Company Profile
Manila Water Company, Inc. (MWC) was incorporated on January 6, 1997 to provide water treatment, sewerage and sanitation, distribution services, pipeworks, and management services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. MWC was a joint venture among Ayala Corporation (AC), United Utilities Pacific Holdings, BV and Mitsubishi Corporation until it became a subsidiary of AC in 2010. On December 10, 2021, the franchise of Manila Water (Republic Act (RA. No.) 11601) was signed into law and became effective on January 25, 2022. Said law grants Manila Water the franchise to establish, operate and maintain a waterworks and sewerage system in the East Zone Service Area of Metro Manila and the Province of Rizal for a period of 25 years and confirms the status of Manila Water as a public utility. The Company's wholly-owned subsidiaries are Manila Water Philippine Ventures, Inc. (MWPV), the holding company for all of MWC's domestic operating subsidiaries including those who have bulk water supply deals in Clark, Cebu, Boracay, Davao, among others; Manila Water Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (MWAP), the holding company for MWC's international ventures which include Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam-based affiliates and associates; and Manila Water Total Solutions Corporation, which handles after-the-meter products and services.
