The company was granted a franchise to operate wireless long-distance message services in the Philippines. In 1992, Globe adopted its current name and welcomed Singapore Telecom, Inc. as a new foreign partner the following year.

As a leading telecommunications provider, GLO offers digital wireless communication services nationwide under the brands “Globe Postpaid,” “Globe Prepaid,” and “TM.” Utilizing a fully digital network, the company also provides domestic and international long-distance communication services and carrier services.
