Phinma Corporation (PHN), formerly Bacnotan Consolidated Industries, Inc., was incorporated on March 12, 1957. PHN is a holding company with investments in the education, steel products, housing, and business process outsourcing sectors. On May 27, 2010, the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the change in corporate name to the present one.
PHN's subsidiaries include, among others, Union Galvasteel Corporation (UGC); Phinma Education Holdings, Inc.; Pamantasan ng Araullo (Araullo University), Inc.; Cagayan de Oro College, Inc.; University of Iloilo; University of Pangasinan; Southwestern University; St. Jude College Inc.; PhilCement Corporation (PC); P & S Holdings Corporation; Asian Plaza, Inc.; and One Animate Limited.
In December 2020, PHN divested 100% ownership interest in Phinma Solar Energy Corporation (Phinma Solar) to UGC, making Phinma Solar a wholly-owned subsidiary of UGC.
PHN has direct minority interests in Phinma Property Holdings Corporation; ABCIC Property Holdings, Inc.; Coral Way City Hotel Corporation; and PHINMA Hospitality, Inc. The Company also has effective interests in two joint ventures: PHINMA Saytanar Education Company Limited and PT Ind Phil Manageme.
